I am thrilled to announce that I have been selected to serve on the Board of Directors at the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors (HGAR). As a member of HGAR and Realtor for over 8 years as well as a proud alumni of the Leadership Accelerator Program, I am honored to have the opportunity to play an active role in the organization's leadership, to help shape the future of the real estate industry in our region, and to continue the extraordinary work that has been accomplished by previous leaders and members at HGAR to create the reputation that we have as a Realtor Association in the region and country.
As a real estate professional, I have always been passionate about growing my personal and professional goals and I believe that serving on the Board of Directors at HGAR will provide me with the perfect opportunity to do just that. I am excited to be able to contribute my skills and experience to the organization and to work alongside other dedicated and talented professionals to drive the success of our 14,000 members.
In the Leadership Accelerator Program, I had the opportunity to help lead a group project that focused on new member engagement and I am excited to bring that focus to the Board level as well. I believe that by engaging with our membership and understanding their needs and concerns, we can better serve them and help everyone succeed in their careers. I am confident that my previous experience in the program will be a great asset to the Board as we work to achieve our goal of providing the best resources, support and services to our members.
In addition to my role on the Board of Directors, I am also honored to have been selected as the chair of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. In this role, I will be working closely with out Steering and At-Large Committee members and HGAR staff to ensure that we are fostering a culture of inclusivity and equity within our organization, and that we are providing our members with the opportunities they need to succeed in an ever-changing industry. I am looking forward to working with other amazing leaders at the association to address the issue of diversity and inclusion in the real estate industry, and to make sure that all members feel welcome and supported and that they have a voice.
As a member of the Board, I am committed to working to ensure that HGAR is a leader in the surrounding region and that we set a strong example for others to follow. We are one of the only Realtor Associations in the country that have hired a full time DEI Officer, and have been champions of fair housing over the years with local legislators. We will continue to set standards for the industry and do what we can to address the systematic issues that have been baked into this industry through centuries of discrimination.
I am truly excited to be able to serve on the Board of Directors at HGAR, and I look forward to working with all of our members to achieve our shared goals. I am confident that with the support of our members and staff, we will be able to make a real difference in the lives of our members and in the real estate industry as a whole.
