So you're closing on a house and you've got the date set! Exciting stuff! It's time for the final walkthrough, and while some view it as a formality, it's a very important time to make sure everything is in order for the home that you're about to move in to.
By this point, the seller's of the home should have everything moved out and the house should be completely empty, barring any items written into the contract. This is a great time to inspect what's going on behind any large furniture previously there, as well as lots of other things.
To keep things simple, I've attached a final walkthrough checklist for you to print out and take with you on a final walkthrough. When buying a home in the Hudson Valley, you'll want to make sure everything on this list is checked off. While 99% of the time, all is well, there's still that 1% chance that something may be wrong and an issue may need to be addressed before closing.
